Vijay Eswaran is a Malaysia entrepreneur and is the current Executive Chairman of QI Group. Although a Malaysian native, the QI Group has its headquarters in Hong Kong. Vijay Eswaran is also a philanthropist and an author.
Vijay Eswaran was born to a teacher mother and a father who worked with the Labor Ministry of Malaysia. Due to the nature of his father’s work, they were forced to keep moving to different parts of Malaysia during his childhood.
Vijay Eswaran attended the London School of Economics where he graduated in 1984. He also undertook a professional course at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and joined the Southern Illinois University where he graduated with an MBA.
After graduating from, Vijay extended his stay in Europe and took up odd jobs across the continent. It was later on in the UK while working as a taxi driver that he was introduced to binary system marketing. This prompted him to seek professional qualification through the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts and an MBA.
Upon returning to Asia in 1998, Vijay Eswaran founded a multilevel marketing business that expanded and was later on known as the QI Group. QI Group is a group of e-commerce businesses that have operations in luxury products, travel, telecommunication, wellness, media, corporate investments, and training.
QI Group has main offices in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore. It also has a presence in more than ten countries through its subsidiaries.
Vijay Eswaran has also served as a public speaker and an author. He has served as a guest speaker at the World Economic Forum, and as the sixth “Pravasi Bharatiya Divas,” an occasion that is celebrated in India, marking the return of Mahatma Gandhi in India from South Africa. His philosophy-inspired books have also been well received. In the Sphere of Silence was his first book that highlighted his behavior of beginning each day with an hour of pure silence. In the Thinking Zone was his second book, which is an entire collection of thoughts and an in-depth reflection of life. “18 Stepping Stones” and “Two Minutes from the Abyss” were his third and fourth books respectively.
